The Soldiers’ Home Organisation is Finland’s oldest voluntary defence organisation. It has been in operation continuously since 1918. Soldiers’ Home work is carried out through 37 societies and by the efforts of more than 6,000 Soldiers’ Home Sisters in all garrisons on land, along the borders, on the coast as well as on the fort islands. They devote an impressive 200,000 hours a year for the benefit of Finnish conscripts! Soldiers’ Home Organisation consists of 37 Soldiers’ Home Societies and the Soldiers' Home Association. The basic task of the organisation is to secure the well-being of conscripts and those who participate in the Reserve’s refresher courses. We serve as a voluntary organisation which promotes defence spirit and preparedness. Soldiers’ Home – a conscript’s oasis

Soldiers’ Homes serve conscripts in the Defence Forces’ units, camp areas and field practices. The Soldiers’ Home activity is voluntary defence work that aims to improve the well-being and comfort of conscripts and those who participate in the Reserve’s refresher courses. At the Soldiers’ Homes conscripts can meet with their friends and family, use the Internet, read papers and enjoy the Soldiers’ Homes’ canteen products and other services. The Soldiers’ Homes are maintained by independent Soldiers’ Home Societies. The Soldiers’ Home Organisation supports the comfort of conscripts with more that half a million Euros annually, e.g. by arranging concerts, by acquiring sports equipment, and by maintaining Internet connections.
